In celebration of Mother’s Day, Miele in support of Singapore Heart Foundation hosted a media luncheon for moms at the Miele Lounge.
Helming the luncheon were Singapore Heart Foundation’s nutritionist, Lim Kiat and Miele’s In-House Chef, Lennard Yeong. Together, they served up a delicious and nutritious meal to the 10 guests, including 2 cardiac patients. Heart healthy dishes can be easy to prepare and still be flavorful as Chef Lennard demonstrated. With the dish, Steamed Chicken Breast Wrapped in Lettuce, Chef Lennard demonstrated to guests how a restaurant-worthy dish can be easily cooked at home using a Steam Oven.
Guests were pleasantly surprised to discover how healthy ingredients such as wholegrain, low-sodium and low-sugar options were used in the cooking, yet retained the flavors of each dish. The tomato dashi soba was exceptionally refreshing served cold, and the salmon was ultra tender paired with vegetable quinoa. Besides the flavorful taste, each dish was also beautifully plated that set the guests happily snapping to document the dishes on their social media.
Ending the event on a sweet (low-sugar) note, diners relished in the refreshing Coconut Granita with Berry Foam and Pine Nuts. As the ancient proverb goes; When diet is wrong, medicine is of no use. When diet is correct, medicine is of no need. To cook healthy recipes and meals does not have to be a chore or time consuming. These recipes jointly put together by Miele and Singapore Heart Foundation will definitely be a hit at the family dinner table.
